ABOUT ME

Antonino Condorelli was born in Catanzaro, a city in Calabria overlooking the Ionian Sea, in 1973. After attending the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Messina, he began his career in 1996 as a photojournalist for local newspapers. He later attended a photojournalism school in Milan and started working as a freelance photographer.

He began collaborating with Associated Press, covering the arrival of migrants from Albania and the Middle East on the Italian coasts. In 2005, he started working with Reuters, focusing on sports, news, politics, and social issues. Between 2009 and 2011, he worked as an editor and photojournalist for OTNPhotos, an Italian press photo agency.

In 2016, he was awarded the “Der Blauer Löwe” prize with his photo series from the project Here We Are.

His work focuses on human rights and contemporary social issues, particularly in Africa and the Middle East. His photographs have been published in major international magazines such as Newsweek, Die Zeit, L’Espresso, The Herald Tribune, Le Monde Ado, and Süddeutsche Zeitung Familie, among others.

He is currently working on long-term projects dedicated to migrant women and the homeless in Hamburg, while continuing to collaborate with various magazines. He has exhibited his work in several exhibitions across Hamburg and Lower Saxony, gaining the attention of the local press.

Part of his work is featured on this website in the sections Stories, Projects, and Publications. In the Books and Prints section, his published books and fine art limited edition prints are available for purchase.

Beyond photography, Antonino is passionate about writing, visual arts, and sports. He holds a degree in philosophy from the University of Turin, a path that complements and enriches his photographic research.

He lives between Italy and Germany and is available, in Germany and worldwide, for editorial assignments, NGO projects, as well as for corporate portraits and reportages.
